Vegan FISH with FAKE SKIN & Vegetarian EEL TASTE TEST — What does imitation fish taste like?
I’ve had my fair share of imitation meats, but never fish (crab, a crustacean, doesn’t count) so when I saw vegan fish at my Asian market I knew I had to try it. They also had vegetarian eel prepared in the style of Japanese roasted eel — unagi — one of my FAVORITE dishes, so I picked that up as well. Hopefully things were lost in translation and they mean wheat protein, but this is cheap compared to the ones i saw where I'm from. I'm going to look again now that I'm in a better location and see what they got.

If you're a vegan or vegetarian and don't eat fish, why do you need fake fish? And why do you need it to look like a fish?

Man I need a fruitfly trap…I'm mostly vegetarian I say pescatarian but I really only eat fish maybe once every four months or so…but I eat a lot of fruit and those little pests are so annoying

Grilled eel is my all time favorite sushi. It's not fishy tasting or anything its really delicious

I've never seen any vegetarian fish substitutes. I never ate any fish before becoming vegetarian, I'd sort of like to try a faithful substitute, but it's quite hard to make something truly taste like meat. These products look so silly and fun, I'd like to try them someday.

That foreign phrase that she often says before she tastes the food, what does it mean? Something like bon appetit?
I feel like fish is so much harder to replicate as fish has a very specific texture, whereas if you're imitating chicken or ground meats its alot easier, as it's more of a uniform texture
