  • Recipe is delicious! Reminds me of mothuk, a Tibetan dumpling soup which I absolutely love but can be hard to find.

  • Why shouldn't you boil miso? I know it can burn pretty quick so I get why you shouldn't cook it (and it doesn't really need cooking anyways), but I've just never heard about not boiling it before

  • Cheaper and better than din thai fun

  • I never considered making an Asian soup, but this looks awesome and refreshingly simple. One question – if I really don't like miso, would a little oyster sauce be a good substitute?

  • Yum 😋

  • Ooooooo going to add that to the winter soup list! Thank you for sharing!

  • You should add the vinegar and sesame oil just at the end. Cooking will reduce the flavor. Same for white pepper

  • Good lord. You have the most annoying speech pattern/cadence I’ve ever heard. Have you never heard another human speak. You could be cooking printed money and I wouldn’t listen to your voice.

  • I'm thinking that I scoop the potstickers out of the broth before refrigeration…… in case I haveleftovers.

  • Delicious! I used a mix of chicken and beef broth to remind me of the Silver Dragon that used to be in Oakland.

  • I enjoy Johns videos, although he has recently been making things most of us won't try at home. But I'm not coming to Chef John for this recipe, big fail

  • Add an egg. I separate whites, stir in vigorously after the veggies are cooked, 1/2 way through cooking the whites, drop in the whole yolk. My challenge here is semi soft yolks.

  • looks delicious

  • Love those type of mushrooms, and I love pot stickers that are not fried, so will be looking to this recipe to my rotation and will be shopping for the shrooms and stickers! Nice hot soup and cold weather? Perfect together! Thanks, Chef John!

  • as a chinese american this is simultaneously my "I'm too lazy to make a real meal but I'm trying to eat healthy" dish and my "I have a bunch of random leftovers in my fridge to use up" dish

  • This doesn’t feel like it would go with Ambrosia, but still hoping it’s the follow up video

  • It's so cold – I've been working thru my soup recipes. Thanks for the ideas!

  • It looks absolutely delicious

  • I thought he was going to reference that one taco commercial where the little girl asked, "why not both?"

  • Brit here. What the hell is a potsticker?

  • I really wish that miso was available in smaller portions. Whenever I buy a tub of miso, I tend to throw some of it out, cause I don’t use it in time.

  • might be a good idea to fry the gyoza first to brown the bottoms, then return them near the end?

  • Extending the miso soup thing, I might be tempted to try dashi as the stock.

  • the gift that keeps on giving! thank you chef john

  • i can not watch your channel anymore since the last three videos. please opt out of the "auto translate title and description" because it messes up a lot of things and helps nobody at all. the voiceover is creepy and very wrong, and the titles and desctiptions are riddled with translation errors. this feature was implemented over the last weeks and is ON BY DEFAULT. yet another useless "ai" grifter feature forced upon the users.
please opt out of that so I can recommend your channel again.

  • I though you were going to make your own potstickers

  • Ooooohhh, I am SO doing this one. 😳😋

  • I think you can only call it a potsticker if it's pan-fried thus a pot sticker; otherwise it's just a dumping 🥟

  • Chef.. could you do a few chicken thigh recipes? I've got 100lb of chicken thighs and no way to cook them ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • This would also be great with some noodles. I will give it a try with veggie broth and ramen or udon noodles.

  • Omg he didn’t use cayenne

  • So simple and quick to make! I had everything and made it exactly as you did but used veggie broth with pork potstickers, it was unbelievably fantastic! Definitely, a family favorite from now on❤

  • Can't wait to try this…looks delicious. Your videos are awesome and inspiring.

  • About hundreds years ago some guys lived in Xi'an came into the same idea, so there are 酸汤饺子 today

  • See-Rah-Chah

  • So, about reheating…just remove the cooked potstickers before you reheat the soup, then add them back when the soup is hot.
