  • A generous teaspoon?! Is that like 1 1/2 teaspoon? A tablespoon?

  • Salt is known for cutting a bitter taste . I use it in my homemade chocolate syrup and yes, in my old string coffee

  • Don't use paper towels, they consist of PFAs, use undyed canvas.

  • Not tissue paper, parchment paper. If you look at it, it looks like parchment paper.

  • Amish people are more advanced than us A D this is why the Americans are destroying their food

  • A lot of these clips are of Misty Prepper. She is not, in fact Amish. I miss her content.

  • So many schoolboy errors in this vid, such as the conundrum of cutting both ends off an onion,, yet leaving the gas bulb (yes, it's the gas that makes our eyes water) or root end, intact, made me cringe on your behalf. 😂😂😂

Incidently, the world's honey supplies are now adulterated with things like syrup, which is why all major competitions were cancelled, last year, 2024!
It seems the criminals are using almost undetectable methods, so standard tests, such as the water test, fail to highlight the contamination.
The food industry is currently assessing the situation and brainstorming to find a solution.

I found mine, several years ago, by taking a bus out of the city, every now and again, to buy from rural beekeepers.
While out there, I also buy fresh eggs, mostly for glassing, and milk to use as is or to make cheese.
There's also fresh meat, mushrooms, fruit and veg to be had.
The break from the city also does me good.
    Folk should try it.

  • Thank you ❤

  • Nothing wrong with these tips, but there's nothing new here either, except that you gave all the credit for them to the Amish people.

  • Do not use bacon grease in your cooking. It is nasty. Use fat back grease (cleaner flavor from different part of the pig) or just lard from the grocery store. Bacon has off flavors that can make your vegetables taste like a garbage can- literally like a well used dumpster.

  • I really enjoyed this video. TY so much for posting

  • For tear free onion cutting you want to use a really sharp knife. A dull knife presses on the onion to release the chemicals which makes people cry. That's why you never see chefs cry. They sharpen their knives before cutting onions. Common sense…

  • Only use onion skins if organic otherwise there is pesticides in it!

  • No need for vodka – just add a T of vinegar (for savory crusts) and 1T of orange juice for sweet pies. You will not taste it but I got my No Fail Pie Crust recipe from my MIL. She was southern but my mom (from the Midwest) used most all of these food hacks
Not putting eggs in mashed potatoes tho. I’d rather add cream cheese

  • I have nothing against the Amish, but all those life hocks and more have come from the older generations of many nations and they and you are welcomed to use it.

  • Lots of good info but shorten vid by cutting talk. Helpful comments added by viewers!

  • None of this is just Amish techniques

  • Great video! Loved it. Don’t get down about those picky comments. You do a wonderful job. Thank you.

  • Since Amish do not consume alcohol, why would they put vodka in their piecrust?

  • Amish do have refrigerator.

  • Hello Beautiful Frugal Solutions Thank You So Much For Sharing I Love Da Amish Community

  • How dare they use "PLASTIC" bags.

  • Without measurements all of this is useless except the one for fresh eggs.

  • Who wants to live with out power and water in the house, God wants us to be happy and less household job.

  • Does it matter if you use white vinegar or apple cider vinegar?

  • And Amish are friendly however they dont like pictures taken of them.

  • where do the amish get ice cubes if they dont have refrigerators ?

  • My grandma life in the mountains I love it survival 60 look at me thank you so much❤😂🎉

  • Amish use plastic bags???

  • Majorities tips are from Southern upbringing not just Amish😅 anyway any chef should already be aware of most of these tips

  • Amish business success 90% 8th grade education.. average college business degree grad 30% success rate with $100k debt.. who's smarter

  • Salme way in California. No one has cellars. They use dehydrators.

  • Already did many of these "hacks" We just call it country cookin'. Especially the bacon grease and cornbread. That's been southern cookin for eons.

  • Most of these were Mom & Grandma hacks….not limited to the Amish. I grew up testing eggs in water (ironically did it as recently as this am). Surefire way. Get the feeling they thought they'd get more clicks for an "Amish tips" video vs Tip from anyone who has been in a kitchen for ages (or who listened to the women in their family lol). Personally I feel there is a lot us English can learn from the Amish. Just not this stuff lol

  • The Amish are slowly ordering from 3rd party companies and selling at Amish markets. I witnessed this at the Columbus Market in New Jersey.

  • Butter is not needed for pancakes. You just need your pan at the right temperature. Some of these ideas especially putting egg in mashed potatoes are funky. Someone tried to serve these potatoes to me, and I gagged. Also you don’t add a wet cloth to your salad. That would make it worse. The cloth needs to be dry to remove excess moisture!

  • Haha your Amish person had a digital watch on. Nice try.

  • NO you never add sugar to tomato based dishes or sauces. Italians tell you to cook a carrot in them then remove the carrot when done. Sugar is an American thing. Amish learned that from the other colonizers. They are just descendants of Europeans who decided in their community churches that the industrial age was against the Bible. They froze their progress, clothing and everything to colonizing times. But they still kept things like recipes ,farming etc from all the other mix of Europeans who immigrated.

  • I can’t subscribe because of your stupid quips
