This looks so good. Do you think it would work in a crockpot?
Hi Merle. I love your channel. I've been trying to try mushroom 🍄 risotto, 🍚 but I'm intimidated because it sounds way out of my league. 😮 I'm truly loving all your videos. I got in trouble in 2024 with low protein, so your channel means a lot to me. I have to watch my iron levels, too, as I'm severely anemic. I have been plant based for 15+ years and look at every recipe, whether it's vegan or not, to see how I can veganize it. Thank you so much for all you do. I hope you're safe down south. I'm in Northern California. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
This is great… I love JO (have ALL his videos) but rarely watch them since becoming Vegan, eight years ago… will go and watch him now!!
JO's recipe said to cook 30 mins covered (to steam it) after which the cauliflower should be basted. Another 30 mins uncovered (to roast it). That combo really helps caramelize the flavors.
I did watch Wicked and I agree with you Merle. Happy New Year! 🎉 Never stop being you.
Perfect! I have just acquired a cauliflower
Olive oil, capers, lemon and garlic makes a great pasta sauce also
I watch you every week on my smart TV and I've never commented before (because smart TV), so I resolve to do that more this year! ❤
I think it would be cool if you partnered with a Palestinian chef to veganize some recipes for us and bring awareness to the issue. I watch Palestinian food videos sometimes and it all looks amazing, but not exactly vegan friendly. Another cool thing to do would be to collect a few LGBTQ chefs's recipes and give them a try, while telling their stories. Food can be an incredible medium of connection and solidarity, and you're definitely awesome enough to create that in your space.
Yes! I'll watch for a candied citrus peel video!
I ❤ olives but capers seem more appropriate here. 👏🏼👏🏼
As a big fan of you from Iraq, I recommend you make vegan dishes from middle east and Arab countries we have many delicious vegan recipes.
A pal that got rid of turkey twizzlers
While I love olives, I actually think capers would be better in this. And yes, "cauliflower stew" is a better name.
That looks so delicious! I'll definitely be trying this one.
Looks like an amazing stew.
I suggest listening to the podcast "Maintainance Phase" and their episode on Jamie Oliver…..He's uh, got some problematic stuffs sadly 🙁 But some great recipes and the Brittish Charm that makes it easy to see past his issues. ><
I feel like this needs some more fat to hit the spot that pot roast is meant to hit
I see the pup 🙂 Stay safe over there M
I would call it a slow cooked cauliflower stew
very interesting style! thanks for sharing
I wonder if I could do this in a Crock-Pot?
I've just seen you for the first time thanks to the recommendation of PB with J. Looks like I found another inspiring and entertaining vegan chef. I love how you described this dish as eating a hug. And I also love your plan to make your channel a platform for progress. I've hit the subscribe button. ❤
Omg I hate olives too! Hi5 😂
i'm not a fan of jamie, but i like your slight modified verions of his pot roast!!! i'd rather take a gordon ramsey dish, and make it vegan; if i wanted vegan food!!! this is coming from a non vegan that occasionally eats vegan!!
Look at that amount of plastic and cardboard. And it's shipped. Baffling when you also speak of 'social change' and 'sustainability'.
ottolenghi has an asparagus recipe that is great for using up capers from other recipes bc its pretty simple. its roasted asparagus topped with toasted almonds, crispy capers, and fresh dill. where i used to live asparagus was 11.90 a pound so i would substitute brocolli
So I am with you 100% on the olive thing – cannot stomach them. But the capers are a great substitute. I have a lot of Jaime Oliver's cookbooks – they are very well done and the recipes are very tasty. His was one of the first cooking shows that I regularly watched years ago.
Wait. What happened to Aria?? Nice recipe btw 😊
no yellow or purple cauliflower please help only white ones
Can you do a series on nutritional yeast? I’ve seeen you use it in so many recipes here and there, but I would love one video that showcases all the different ways we can use it from sauces to pasta to whatever else??
Funny, you mention substituting out olives for capers… Because when I see capers in the recipe, I tend to find something to substitute them for because they’re fucking gross😂
Out here talking about buying organic when I can barely afford standard groceries is some wild out of touch work, but do you, queen.
I love you and I love your videos, but I cringe every time you use a knife.
Brooo i am a man but this top is fiiiireeee 🔥
Chilly? It’s minus5 tonight in good old England 🏴 love your videos x
