Exagerations
I've been carnivore for 3 years, when i eat only meat my blood pressure goes up from 110/70 to 130/20. My blood sugar is between 5 and 6, I'm not overweight, I'm a very active 64 year old. When I eat a little veg or eat lots of sardines it comes right down! What am I doing wrong?
Can we talk about the type of salt please?
Dr Boz was all over the place. She was being very careful and said very little that is useful info. On medical terms she used words that were not medical, rather everyday words. She seemed afraid to answer alot of questions and resistant on medical terminology we needed to hear. Bad information and left alot of people confused. There are several other Doctors that get to the meat of the conversation instead of evading the important things.
Mmm, I got my bp down to 115/ 75 and kept feeling strange when I stood up. Nothing wrong on echos or ecg. Bloods all ok. Just maybe we are not all the same.
I actually had better luck lowering blood PRESSURE by getting rid of grain. Same thing…retains fluid. Yes, salt helped me also.
Salt is a too much/not enough thing. Goldilocks. But for me salt helped me drop fluid if i was retaining fluid. Try a little salt and see if you pee off fluid a few minutes layer. Otherwise, wrong way.
I'm finding this video a little depressing. I've been carnivore for years, strictly again for the past ~5 months with no cheats – though I do have milk in my coffee – and my blood pressure has continued to creep up (usually ~150/90). My diet consists of meat, eggs, butter, salt. water, coffee & milk (in coffee). Each day the same. I walk every day, work out a few times a week, I'm 52yo and pretty good shape… going by Dr Boz it seems like I'm already on a slippery slope to put it kindly.
After being low carb for 3 years, I am finding that bacon is too salty for me and I've been buying the same brands all that time.
When my blood pressure got below 120 I felt very fatigued. It was a different feeling to not having sleep properly/enough.
Thank you Dr Boz for addressing the crucial issues regarding the kidneys.
When I get my labwork done and it shows low or boarderline sodium, it always correlates with my bp being slightly elevated.
Can she help me get off blood thinner Eliquis (2*5 mg) ? Please answer. I also take Metoprolol 25 mg. I had hearth fib before but not any more after an ablation.
Why not distinguish between chemical salt sodium chloride and natural salt ?? Like Himalaya salt Celtic salt 🧂 ????? Which is a mixture of minerals ..,
Ok, So what is the process to lower HBP under 120 w/o medication? Carnivore, Low carb, etc.
I stopped getting migraines once I completely cut seed oils out of my diet. It's surprising how many different processed foods have seed oils of some kind in them.
Great interview !!!
I went from 124 over 78 to 170 over 106…it was menopause…caused my veins to collapse moreso and disrupted my digestion…
Started adding oranges, and high vit c, along with good fats and proteins…now down to 127/78…still need to lose weight but refused the bp meds
Readmonds Real Salt is high in Lead. Pink salt is too. Lead Safe Mama has a list of the best safe to use.
Thank You from Hawaii!!!
What a wonderful deep dive and I now have a better understanding of high bp. Thank you two amazing ladies for what you do.🙏
Try potassium to reduce blood pressure fast.
I think, moderation in eating, walking &breathing w/clean air with proper sunlight and hydration of clean water & getting out of unnecessary stress will help a lot .
I've noticed there's a kind of tipping point when too much salt does raise my BP but it does take quite a bit of salt. Obviously the body needs salt so removing it can cause all kinds of issues as well.
This is terrifying and not helpful. My insulin has been 2.5 recently and I still have had high BP readings. It’s a recent phenomenon, but I may be about to throw this deadly switch for all I know.
How do you know if you have insulin that is too high, or have insulin resistance. On carnivore for 6 months, and feel horrible. Was taking high electrolytes. Not low sodium blood level, and high potassium. Lots of heart palpitations, and occasional high blood pressure, especially at night. Only been sleeping 3 to 6 hours a night for the last 3 weeks. I weigh 130. Was low to normal blood pressure before carnivore. Any suggestions?
What if I have lots of constant heart palpitations, with high blood pressure, racing heart episodes at night. Daytime blood pressure is normal most of the time. My sodium and chloride are low. My potassium is high. My doctor says I'm insulin resistant. Is it safe for me to add more salt? How much should I be using? I've been taking 2 grams. This started after I started carnivore. I read that it is dangerous to increase salt too fast when it is low. My thyroid also tanked.
Jesus said, Salt good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Mark 9:50.
This conversation helped me more than my kidney specialist!🤦🏽♂️
i Have stage 5 CKD the say i need to stay away from salt ??
I've had many headaches dissappear when I take a bit of salt under my tongue( sublingual) .
There is a YouTube topic for every bite of food you can imagine. In the good ole days 200 years ago and prior to humans knew what to eat. There was no industry making all the B.S. crap foods and no YouTube with thousands of variations. Today we are the only species that can’t figure out what to eat. Animals with lesser rains than us know by instinct what they need.
Other physicians on YouTube support 6 – 9 grams salt. A teaspoon depending on the salt is 6 grams. I put in a little over a teaspoon Redmonds Real Salt in a separate salt shaker every day to know how much I am using. I do not by products with salt in them as I eat carnivore. My fasting insulin on carnivore was 3.9
Gotta be careful with adding too much salt. Too much sodium can decrease your potassium. They need to be in balance.
❤ Dr. BOZ
Sorry – but very confusing 🤪🤪🤪
Was put on BP medication when weight was 260 pounds. Have lost 53 pounds on Ketovore plus weight lifting and riding bike 10 miles per day (still need to lose 40 pounds). Still have high blood pressure. Glucose level is 71-85 every morning. Just fractured right arm in 2 places near shoulder. Blood pressure while taking my BP medicine is through the roof now. I’m in constant pain (taking pain pills plus ibuprofen). Age 68, plaque in left heart valve. No longer sure what to do. Heart doctor wants me on statins……..
I shake salt into my hand and lick it like some beast in the wild 😮
