Isn't soy heavily sprayed with glyphosate or similar? Are they non-gmo or bio- enginered?
They are both horrible.
I like them both but have really been using soy curls a lot lately. BBQ soy curls also work wonderfully in the instant pot. Rehydrate, throw everything in including sauce and set to slow cook for 1 hr. It still reaches pressure so the flavor is better than just using a slow cooker.
I just don’t know what to eat anymore. Have stage 3 kidney failure, gout, arthritis. Meat seems to make everything worse. Don’t know if soy is ok with kidneys? Does it make purenes in the blood?
I buy mine from Azurre Standard. They offer them in a bunch of bags or one big bag. I like the individual bags . They are easier to freeze and share.
Wish we could get these in Australia, but sadly only available in tge US

I love soy curls, I never use TVP but the smashed soy curls make a great substitute for them. I've also used the fine grounds at the end of a bag for a meatloaf, I just save them in the freezer until I have enough.
Does anyone have any recs for salt-free BBQ sauce? Other than Well Your World…

Soy curls make really good chili. We put corn in our chili. Yum!
I make beef Bourguignon with Butler soy curls! People love it. It's work, but worth it. I stopped buying the 6 pack from Amazon and now buy directly from Butler's. They sent 2 free gifts last time. I feel so much better giving them my direct business. ❤
Butler foods also makes the best vegan jerky I've ever had. Even my dad who normally turns his nose up at vegan food liked them.

Yup game changer for some who switched to a plant based way of eating. Its the better choice as a flesh replacement for those as newbies and even those long term, wanting a bit more texture in their recipes.

Hi Chuck, fellow Portlander here currently living on the east coast. I've been following you for quite some time now. Love your YT channel. I'm definitely Team Soycurls. I find ordering them directly from Butler's is the absolute freshest. I've made this recipe a dozen times already. I'll usually put a homemade slaw on top between two Dave's Killer buns. It's the bomb!
What about a review of "Carne d Soya" ?
I hydrate the soy curls with warm water with a little Braggs liquid aminos added for flavor.
I love soy curls! I make a vegan chicken salad with them. I also use them to make chicken noodle soup.
