Ja, Pasta with Meat 🦖
Cooking Italian cuisine, the hardest part is always figuring out where to put the meat.
Strozzapretti con pomodoro e piselli. Semplice e favoloso.
There's actually quite a lot of vegetarian and vegan cuisine all throughout europe
All meals are better with meat added to them. Literally all
thats why our gorgeous italy!!! has the most centenarians in europe
No, they are only capable of being things in the most insufferable way possible. Vegans, atheists, crossfitters especially
You forgot my favorite, fried carciofi alla giuda , or braised alla Romana. Artichokes are the most delicious vegetables in my opinion.
Lol europeans being all high and mighty again… Vegan means no animal product at all. Sure Ive eaten an authentic Italian meal without a cut of meat. But there almost always cheese, butter, eggs or fish 😂
Wait till they find out about india. They will lose their shit
Who’s gonna tell him pastas not vegan
One day, just one day you were my favorite internet chef! I just can't trust a vegan!
Yeah… and Italians are historically fatter then Americans… cmon
I’m American and raised in a vegan family, we have no Italian heritage mostly being north European, but I was mostly raised on Italian and Indian inspired food, with some Mediterranean and Mexican and pretty much no traditional dishes from my family cause those cuisines ate easier for a vegan to work with
Uuuuummmm vegetarian yes. Vegan? It's not Vegan if cream, egg, or dairy is involved. If it has any cream or cheese, or egg, then its not Vegan…..
I love the Italian bias toward other food cultures. So stuck up and with good reason!
I’ll be honest, the only good meat dishes In Italy are the cured ones. They don’t really do steak. On top of that they don’t really do vegan. Like he said vegetarian is one thing when you’re able to eat dairy an egg however there’s almost no vegan food. You kind of stuck with gnocchi or gazpacho.
Americans have no right to speak on these matters. Let the countries with decently priced, high quality ingredients and food take this one
Pasta e fagioli has meat in it, lol
OH PELATONE, MA TI SEI BEVUTO IL CERVELLO?
All of which is cooked with butter, Parmesan etc
This title is misleading obviously.
A lot of these fads people think is brand new. It's just their thinking. My mother has been eating "vegan " since the 60s
Vegan means no animal products, which the Italians could never. Dairy, eggs and cheese are all non-vegan, sadly.
Oh poor kevvie… you ok? Did Massimo upset you?
I’m craving anchovies.
He's confused as to what 'vegan' means.
Exactly, vegetarian doesn’t mean bad or disgusting. Was raised with my Dad cooking vegetables correctly so unlike most people around me I love eating them just as much as a good piece of meat. I couldn’t go vegan though, that is something I couldn’t do.
Vegan and vegetarian are not the same though. Especially in cooking . Adding fats always make dishes taste delicious
He's right when it comes to vegetarian dishes, as historically most people could only afford to eat meat on special occasions, so the majority of their diets and therefore the recipes that got passed down generationally would be without meat.
Eggs and dairy would've been way more accessible for the common folk tho, so we can't be talking about "plant based" really.
A lot of fresh pasta, especially in the northern parts of italy, is made with eggs, and cheeses like parmigian, pecorino and mozarella are an essential part of countless dishes.
Believe me, as a vegan who loves italian cuisine it's a pain in the ass to try recreating those dishes knowing that wether I choose to just leave it out or use a vegan alternative, I will never be able to get a truly perfect result.
