The humble and much loved lentil fritter ( daler bora ) is a staple in Bengali households . They are small lentil fritters that we Bengalis often enjoy with rice and dal sometimes as a part of a pure vegetarian meal. Essentially, a typical part of the Bengali meal is to pair something fried with the dal. This you can have it as is also and I like to add different kind of veggie to make it healthier

1 cup red lentils (masoor daal )
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 medium sized onion finely chopped
2 dry red chili
Salt to taste
1 tbsp fennel seed
1 cup chopped spinach
Lime juice to taste
oil for frying

Wash and soaked the red lentils with dry red chili and fennel seed with warm water about 1 hr , Once the red lentils have soaked, drain them and grind them to a paste form add any water !!

In a bowl add the lentil , chopped onion , chopped spinach , cilantro , salt and lime juice
Mix it well
Grease your palm and form the fritters

Then shallow fry it till it’s golden
You can air fry too brush the fritter with some oil and then air fry it

Enjoy with your favorite condiment. Or have it as a side with rice and lentil !!
