  • The thing you should be worried about more are the upcoming January 15th port strikes, which will occur in just four days. It's not the prices, either, but the actual availability of a lot of things! Trump uses tariffs for political economic leverage, and they will more than likely back down. I have no concern about the tariffs.

  • GE refrigerator, & electric stove for 2 years and a GE electric dryer for 3 years.

  • Amen on the paying interest comments!!!! If you cannot pay for something outright, then you do not need to buy it!!!! I have not paid any interest on credit card purchases for the past 30 years. Paid off the car in 5 months, not 5 years. I only got the car loan to get the car at the reduced price from the dealership with his financing. Breakeven price would have been 6 months. Net win. Paid off my house in 26 months, after selling a condo and townhouse, left with a small mortgage. The mortgage interest was 4% in 1999. Accelerated the mortgage principal payments and paid it off in 26 months. This allowed me to use the amount I would have paid for the mortgage to get rental properties, schedule E deductions defray the interest on those mortgages, and the renters pay the interest anyway in their rent. Win-Win.
I used to teach time value of money to my engineering students, used mortgage payment acceleration to show what interest does, future value etc., as part of their senior design course. Most students will NEVER have any personal financial training in their courses. These kids, even as engineering students were not able to budget, balance check books, understand student loans etc. before they took my course. Time value of money lessons were only 6 hours of the entire course, but the engineering students need to understand the economic implications of their designs, bonds to pay off big projects. etc. Why can't we teach this to seniors in HIGH SCHOOL?

  • We purchased a Speed Queen top loader washing machine in the past 2 years that I love and so far no problems.

  • Have you tried Methylated B vitamins. They are more highly absorbable. My doctor recommended I try them and they have worked well for me and my son.

  • Paper products are mostly made in USA

  • We did gota biger tv love it

  • Our Kids bought a GE refrigerator about 3 1/2 year ago and haven’t had any problems. I don’t remember the model but it has the freezer on the bottom and an ice/cold water machine.
They also bought GE electric range, dishwasher, and microwave at the same time. So far so good.

  • I’ve bought the middle tier($800ish) whirl pool washer and electric dryer for myself and tenants and they’ve been running well for 1-4 years so far. I’m getting the model that’s Top loader with glass lid and removable agitator from Lowe’s or Menards and coresponding dryer.

About 5 years ago, I bought the cheap tier($400-500), top loader for tenant at Lowe’s. And they were trash.

After getting burned on the cheapest ones, I decided to buy the middle tier for the next tenant. And it worked well. So when my personal 15 year old top tier front loader set kicked the bucket last year, I bought that same middle tier for myself, although, I got the larger size. And collectively, they have been working fine for years.

My problem with them is that they’re all they now take a really long time to run a cycle. My old ones had a “quick” cycle that took about 25 minutes. This new one’s “quick” cycle takes about 45 minutes. It sprays a little water at the clothes, spins, measures something, sprays a little more, spins again. Measures. Spins. Pauses. Spritzes. Measures. Spins. Pauses. The old ones just fillled with water. Shook a couple times, and spun the water out and was done.

Sadly, The lack of a true quick cycle noticeably slows down my family’s laundry system.

  • This is pretty much a no spend year for me, except for food of course. I support Trump's tariffs, he wants to stop paying for items made outside of the country to stimulate growth in our own country. It should have never got to this point. We need to produce here again.❤

  • LG is not the way to go. Can't get anybodybtobwork on it while it under warranty. Nobody would touch it

  • We bought a Speed Queen front loader washing machine this year. Knock on wood , it seems to be working well. It was expensive, but the price of an extended warranty was included in the price of the machine.

  • About two years ago after my divorce, I bought a GE refrigerator, a GE stove range and a Bosch dishwasher. I went with a Bosch for the dishwasher cause I’ve only been in my house at that time for 10 years and that was the third dishwasher and it has worked wonderful.

  • We have 2 vacuum cleaners that now need new parts. One is only 7 mos old and the belt melted into the roller 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ $140 piece of junk.

  • I have a whirlpool white side by side that works great had it now for almost 2 years but we do not use the ice maker we took it totally out

  • I bought a GE fridge a year and a half ago, no problem yet. I did not want an ice maker even though 1 came in the freezer, no water/ice in the door. Fridge on top freezer on bottom.

  • I should not be scared. Please pray that my family will be ready forJesus. Thank you. I watched a video of y’all talking about lamps and oil. I get it now. I try so hard to be ready for him. I have been reading my Bible and praying. I hope I am ready.

  • I bought an LG refrigerator 3 years ago no problems

  • I have a few nome🎉🎉🎉.

  • Bought a Beko refrigerator. Absolutely no problems going on 3 years this year.

  • Just finished a kitchen remodel summer of 23. We have a Bosch dishwasher and Bosch stove. We have had ZERO problems, we always go with Bosch. Very expensive, well worth it in my opinion.

  • Always higher when dems are in charge. It comes down to what you really need and want and what isn’t necessary.

  • I hit clearances for my soaps, candles, napkins, and paper plates. I don’t care if I’m using Christmas napkins in May lol

  • They are making them crappy now. You want to get the least bells and whistles to make them last. That’s what we did.

  • Looks like you got a lot of Adexum bots in the comments.

  • Maytag dishwasher. It was expensive…$1000 but so so worth it!

  • I can't help you with appliances. I haven't bought one since I think it was 2019 or 2020. Might've been 2021 or 2022. Now I can't remember. Last appliances we bought: A GE washer from an appliance store. Tried to get the most VERY BASIC model possible-I can NOT stress the MOST BASIC model. Unfortunately, it's got the electronic switches which I hate with a passion. Power goes out, can't wash plus more stuff to break. ::sigh:: Same for the refrigerator. (I forgot the brand because the logo fell off) they made it so cheap. I got it on Marketplace for $350. It's much smaller than our old Kenmore (that lasted exactly 21 years I think) but it has zero buttons and all that stuff. We also did NOT hook up the ice maker either.

  • Maytag side by side refrigerator and Kitchen Aid oven. We have had them for 4 years, since we moved here. We got a gas oven and had to put a gas line in for in. It was worth it. Our Maytag washer broke after 4 years. We bought Speed Queen two months ago. My husband did a lot of research and those were the best made.

  • I kid you not, better have more than ONE way to cook, no joke. GET anything NON electronic. I will use my stove until it craps out. However, if it does, then well, I gotta cook a different way, which I'm prepared for. My concern are freezers/refrigerators. Not so much for dishwashers (I am the dishwasher), or washers because I'll wash my clothes a different way as well. My thing is House: have BACK UP PLANS in case of an emergency. If you lose your home, better have a 2nd place to go to, IF you're able to even travel. And IF the roads are clear. I wouldn't get an EV vehicle. If grid goes down, then it snows like crazy, good luck. You're stuck. I know even with regular gas cars, trust me, you can get stuck with that too. With all that's happened, my heart, thoughts and prayers are with MANY folks. Some things, you're just SOL and can't prepare for. The folks in LA and other areas, many folks had NO warning UNTIL after things happened, same with WNC/ETN. If you know, you know. But, if YOU'RE lucky to survive through these things and not be in the way of the disasters, THINK OUTSIDE of the box on everything. Learn to cook without certain ingredients. Bare basics. Learn to wash clothes in a bucket with a plunger. (that's IF you have water), learn to live without a LOT of different things. Have CASH on hand because well, if power is out, look at WNC/ETN, they had zero power, zero internet, no atms, no stores, etc. etc. etc. Folks had to bring things from other cities. Folks also had to use cash to buy things. It's bad all around. Learn the basics big time while you're able to.

  • My roborock vac is still working while the Shark was a headache and stupid and died in 2 years. Only appliance I bought within 2 years. Half off prime day each time. Use that time for something else. My bathroom floor is finished then the toilet broke when putting the floor down and to put it back craaaack. So a new toilet ugh. A bucket toilet is cheap and worthwhile. A toilet can break easily if removing or putting it back. Got an extra seal just in case. Didn't know the toilet came with one and bought one. Glad we got it over with. So. Bathroom project done. Painted and patched last year.

  • I got truly socked in the face the last time DJT implemented tariffs. Looked at an old receipt and I paid both sales tax and tariff/import fees. It was a big-ticket necessary item, not a luxury. I am not anti-Trump, just sharing my experience. Never recall making it up with other items being lower.

  • The tolet paper and paper towels that I buy are made in the usa. I don't own a credit card just a atm card.

  • Lg old school style refrigerator but customer service for parts, are a hassle.

  • Bosch dishwasher EXCELLENT!!!

  • We had tariffs 4 years ago and everything was cheaper. What will drive prices up is the hoarding. People hear these videos and panic buy.

  • About three years ago I bought an Amana top loading washer with agitator and dryer. Both are working very well. I bought the least expensive set.

  • Don't buy Fridgeraire. We had a nightmare with our brand new refrigerator.

  • Bosch. Bought in 2020

  • Whirlpool washer and dryer, washer has broken down multiple times. The dryer so far so good. Pushing 3 years, I think.

  • LG washer and dryer. 2.5 yes. GE FRIDGE No problem with either.

  • Thank you Tawra! Trying to get more prepared on my remote little farm for all the snow storms comeing!! Side note: I bought a new washer and dryer 3 years ago. The dryer broke down! It's so flimsy compared to the older styles!!

  • My daughter buys her quilting material at estate, yard and other sales very cheaply…and sewing patterns usually 4/$1.00.😊
