  • Vegitable hanvo bites
    For the batter
    1/2 cup Moong Dal
    1 cup Small grain rice
    1 to 2 chillies
    1 small piece of Ginger
    1/4 cup rava
    Salt to taste
    1/4 cup beaten curd

    1/4 cup red carrot grated
    1/4 cup orange pumpkin grated
    1/4 cup dudhi grated
    1 tbsp chopped green garlic (optional)

    1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    1/2 tsp eno
    1 tbsp water
    Ghee for greasing
    1 tsp mustard seeds
    1 tsp white sesame seeds

    Green chutney for serving

    For the batter wash rice and moong dal and soak it with little water for half an hour.
    Then grind in to paste with chillis and ginger.
    U can add garlic also if you like. And coriander leaves to give tht nice green color.
    After grinding add rava, salt, curd and mix well.
    Keep this mixture aside for 10 mins.
    meanw grate carrots, pumpkin, dudhi.
    U can use any Vegitables of your choice.
    I am also using green garlic here. U can use spring onions, coriander, mint or any other herbs.
    Mix all this veggies with rice and dal mixture. Add turmeric powder and eno.
    Add little water and give it a nice mix.
    Heat ghee in paniyaram mould and add little mustard seeds and white sesame seeds in each holes.
    Then add spoonful of batter.
    Cover and cook for 5 mins
    After 5 mins turn the handvo bites with the help of fork or satay stick.
    Add some more ghee and cook for another 5 mins.
    Serve hot with green chutney.
