Feeding My Family Without the Grocery Store | #threeriverschallenge
Hey Friend, it’s day 1 of the #threeriverschallenge and I’m taking you along for a day of feeding my family without the grocery store. I’m sharing 6 from scratch recipes made using things I already had in my pantry and freezers.

Love your channel. I was watching the From Scratch farmhouse and she is a person who researches everything as do you. She mentioned she doesn’t use Redmond Real say due to the gritty texture. I was surprised but glad someone else had experienced what I did. She replied that the main reason was it contains lead. Just wanted to let you
Know what she discovered.
Awesome meals and desserts! Val C
The waffle sandwiches are a good idea. There's been days I've wanted egg and and didn't have bread in the house and didn't feel like baking it. Great idea thanks
Thank you for sharing this. The meal looked delicious and so did the ice cream! I’m not doing the pantry challenge per se, but I will enjoy inspiration to use up things in my pantry. Thanks for the ideas!
I enjoyed your video, the recipes and simplicity of your life. Thank you for sharing your story. Can’t wait to try this recipes
hey girl- Happy New Year! 😁loved the video! Such yummy recipes😉 great job Kelsey🥰 Have a blessed weekend☺
So I feel like I do this challenge every weekend as a newbie, but I cook a Meal on the weekends and deliver to my neighbors but I am shelf stable and only buy from my local farms and butchers and have all equipment to can, but no storage. My Basement floods in PA so I need to be careful. I love feeding my elderly neighbors on weekends and they blessed me with a beautiful self shot bird calendar this year as a Thank you. For me it's the little things.
❤
It's cold here in Pennsylvania so it's soup until further notice 😂
Did I miss where the muffin recipe came from? I have some fruit I could puree and use up as well! Thank you.
You can make pumpkin bread with that squash
The thing I love most about this pantry challenge is the creativity it produces. I try to only purchase fresh fruit that I can't grow, lactose free milk, and, of course, eggs from our local Amish friends. I do, however, subscribe to a home delivery organic meat company.
We are trying the challenge but will still go to a farmer's market once every 2 weeks. Yesterday I made a big batch of gf pumpkin muffins. I grew the pumpkins last summer. When we want muffins I bake from scratch.
I’m doing the challenge too! It’s just my husband and I.😊
Thise waffle sandwiches … whoa! They look delicious😋 Everything does, right down to the ice cream.
I want to make some Sundae in a Jar when cherries 🍒 start coming in. I don't know how I missed seeing the recipe last year!
Wow, super ❤😊
Lots of great ideas for my family, definitely going to try some of these😊
Butternut squash, apples, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg bake it it’s so good
❤❤❤❤❤
Looked very good. Its a lot of work trying to be healthy, and your kids don't even know what you are doing for them.
Raw milk is Illegal throughout Canada.

Yay! Lovely video Kelsey, well done for sticking to your current food diet, reward will come with your body feeling so much better for it. Awesome Tozer quote at the end, I do so enjoy reading the scriptures you end with, always an encourager ❤
Why don't you make a sauce with spiced peaches either to marinate meat or to go with the meat
I decided to do something a little differently this year. I’m doing the challenge, however, I am taking what I would normally spend on groceries, and buying shelf stable food and taking it to the Blessing Box at the church. For those of you who are financially able, I’m hoping that you will join me in blessing others during this challenge.
The meals look delicious. As for your kitchen aide ice cream maker we have one too and mine lives in the freezer and soft serve is all it can do…so I just put the ice cream in a container once it’s done and freeze it just for a bit…I think it helps of the house is cold too when making it.❤
Great recipes Kelsey! Thanks for sharing 🙂🙏
I enjoy watching the different ways that you can prepare basic foods. Creativity is showing up.
I do not have a garden and only have canned jelly. Pluscwe live in an apartment. So I am doing the pantry challenge, using whats in my pantry and freeze from the store. As I usually buy large amounts when on sale, so buy doing the challenge with only store bought items, I can finally work at using foods before they expire.
Last night I made shake and bake turkey breast. It was amazing. During the holidays I bought a large turkey, cut it up and now I have multiple meals. Tonight we will finish off the left over turkey.
My plan is to dwindle down what I have, to make room for newer items. Plus I know meats go on sale, at certain times, so need the space for the next sale . And this challenge gives me the chance to reorganize mt 2 pantries and see what I bought but never really used, or what I need to stock up on more often.
In the coming week I do have a few chicken carcasses, I am indeed of chicken broth.
I made turkey broth around the holiday, it was so amazing. I can only freeze it. Don't have a pressure canner. Maybe someday.
I look forward to seeing what you make from whats on your pantry. Which gives me ideas on what I can make too.
number 113 in the likes…. will share and commenting… Hugs from Esquimalt
I love seeing how you make meals from your pantry! Also, did you freeze your ice cream after you churned it? Even if it didn't set, it still looks delicious!
Great start to the challenge! I personally find that a reset…no matter the context….promotes health, wisdom & are oftentimes just necessary in life!
♥️ Happy New Year sister 🙏
Yummy
Great ideas as usual. I love all the inspiration I get from your videos each week. Using jam as a Sweetner…. great idea! Looking forward to all you do during this pantry challenge. Tysm! Have a great week. 😊
YUM! and you must be one of the most self disciplined people in the world!
I relish the quotes that you have, without fail, at the end of all your videos
I’m not surprised that you’re off to a great start with the challenge! Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year!
Just taking a break with my second cuppa and your video popped up! Color me happy! ❤😊
