Crispy Smashed Potatoes| How to Make Crispy Potatoes| Vegetarian Snack| Smashed Potatoes With Garlic



Crispy Mashed Potatoes

Prep time- 20 mins
Cooking time- 30-35 mins
Serves- 4-5 people

Ingredients:
500 gms baby potatoes
Salt to taste
3-4 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp whole wheat flour
10-12 garlic cloves, minced
2-3 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp red chilli flakes
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried mixed herbs

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200 degree Celsius for 10 minutes.
Place the potatoes and 1 teaspoon of the salt in a pressure cooker and fill it with enough water to cover the potatoes by 1 inch.
Let one whistle come and then switch off the flame.
Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, add olive oil, whole wheat flour, garlic, coriander leaves, salt, black pepper powder, garlic powder, red chilli flakes, and dried mixed herbs and mix well and keep it aside.
Then place each potato onto the chopping board and use the back of a measuring cup or potato masher to smash them down until they’re about ¼-inch thick.

For Roasting the potatoes in the oven-
Place the smashed potatoes on a baking tray and apply prepared marination on each potato and then turn all the potatoes and again apply the prepared marination on the other side of the potatoes too.
Roast for about 25 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp around the edges.

For Roasting the Potatoes in the pan-
Heat a non stick or iron skillet on medium heat.
Once the pan is heated, add 1 tbsp olive oil.
Once the oil is also hot, add smashed potatoes in the skillet and roast them on medium to high heat.
Once they are roasted well on one side, flip the potatoes and apply the marination on each potato with the help of brush and let it roast on medium to high heat.
It will take 3-4 minutes to roast on one side and then again flip the potatoes and again apply the prepared marination on the other side of the potatoes and roast them.
Once they are roasted well from both the sides, take them out on a serving tray and serve hot.
