  • Hey Beryl, that Turkish carrot dish minus the walnut with paprika butter is Maharashtrian Koshimbir. You can make it with any shredded hard veggie like carrots, beets or cucumbers, yogurt and a pinch of salt.

  • Try to make Gajjar Halwa from Red Carrots which u will get only in winters…

  • beryl i LOVE the sweater youre wearing in the hungarian stew section, wow!!!!!<3

  • What's this blender that blends even raw carrots?

  • Nunca tinha visto bolo de cenoura com brigadeiro em cima , deve ter ficado enjoativo 😮. Geralmente as pessoas fazem uma calda de chocolate por cima do bolo… que pena.

  • Please wash your veggies even if you are going to peel them. Heck, even if you are slicing into something like an onion or avocado, you should always wash them first. "You should always wash carrots thoroughly before peeling them; the FDA recommends washing all produce under running water before cutting, eating, or cooking to remove dirt and potential bacteria that could be transferred from the knife to the vegetable when peeling. '

  • i peel and then wash off whatever is stuck on. i peel dry

  • You have to try the proper Turkish Havuc Mezesi aka Havuc Tarator. Its much better if the carrots are stirfried with little bit olive oil and sprinkle of sugar. Then add some garlic to the yogurt and mix the carrots in when they are cooled down. Serve with paprika oil with or without walnuts. Cant believe they made you try with raw carrots that not how its done

  • 15:00 Those are pecans not walnuts.

  • Its from the movie " Babe!"

  • The Aegean carrot meze was a completely new version for me! I've learned to make it without the paprika infused walnuts and heat up the carrots lightly in oil (it's importan they keep their colour but get just a bit softer, i usally know it'sready when I've mixed it all so they get a bit shiny from the oil) then you let it cool down before mixing in with the garlic yoghurt. Then you can have some olive oil and parsley as a topping (and walnuts if you like) Maybe you'll like this version more? It's a perfect side dish when you have some old and sad carrots left you dont know what to do with 😆

  • That’s not even the carrot 🥕 used in India to make that. They use a red local variety of carrot that is much sweeter. Also this is the dumbest way of cooking gaajar ka halwa. You suck at cooking it and that’s all!

  • I thought that the Turkish one would be carrot cake balls

  • Freedom for Palestine 🇵🇸 ❤❤❤❤

  • I have to try the Indian desert.
Because to me carrot and milk is not a surprising flavour. It's a combination I love.
Most people think I am somewhat crazy when I tell them that I mix store bought carrot juice (the sweet kind with honey) with whole milk (about 60:40). I think it's something my parents gave to me when I was very little.
Also one of my favourite "poor man's dishes" is white onion and shredded carrots sweated off, theb adding a little bit of cream and salt and pepper. My family calls this dish "Matschmöhrchen" which is German for "snall mushy carrots".
So yeah. Carrors and dairy for the win.

  • Babe!!

  • I have made carrot halwa several times amd it tastes lovely. But my recipe book said to use what semolina, too. I am surprised this recipe doesn't use it! But I suppose it still tastes almost the same.

  • I prefer to use a different chocolate topping. But Brazilian carrot cake its a good way if making kids friends with vegetables

  • İn carret salad you should cook carrot with olive oil and 1 clove garlic ones they soften you add them to garlic yogurt

  • Made the carrot cake yesterday and it is delicious. I'm not sure what size a medium carrot is supposed to be, but I had a package of what I thought were fairly big carrots (not big enough for stuffing LOL) and it took 6 of them to make 360 grams. I opted for no frosting, so I know I was missing the full Brazilian taste, but I didn't have condensed milk and just wasn't feeling like chocolate. I wonder how an orange drizzle would taste with this?

  • Hi! About the washing of fruits and vegetables: In India often fruits and vegetables are bought from the local vendors/hawkers in the streets. So there's dust, and dirt and all. And often it's not as clean or thoroughly washed as the one in a supermarket ( usually costlier veggies). So washing veggies is a very important part of the cooking process.

  • Gajraila and Gajar Ka halwa are different. – Chef Ranveer Brar

  • in regards to the turkish dish
    – absolutely needs mayo
    – peel the carrots they will make it bitter
    – PLS COOK THE CARROTS until they are soft never have I heard of raw carrots in this dish
    – walnuts are optional I personally opt out of them although I like them but not in combo with this dish and I recommend u to do so too
    – I know everyone makes everything differently but this was …
Pls This need a redemption it needs a REDO PLEASE

  • As a brazilian, the minute i saw it was carrot themed episode and that there was a brazilian flag in there i knew it would be bolo de cenoura

  • Middle eastern shops have all the coring tool

  • 26:00 actually understandable because, Indian desserts are usually too sweet with too much sugar/jaggery but usually milk based ones use less sugar directly and the overall sugar can be changed based on taste. You can try Kalakand/milk cake or Payasam or Rabdi.

Love your work, Beryl. Sending love from Southern India ❤.

  • Those aren't walnuts. They are pecans. 🤨🤨🤨

  • YES!!!! BOLO DE CENOURA ❤️❤️❤️

  • These all look so good! ❤😊

If you love garlic and carrots there is a Russian carrot salad with soy sauce that makes you stink but it tastes aamaaaazing.

  • loved the recipes, JAzar mahshi is an awsome dish, try turnips, same steps and ingredients more or less. We have lots of great Indian food here in Dubai. I understand about Indian desserts, they do tend to be too sweet in general, its just they way they like their desserts, possibly to cut through the extra spicy dishes. Having said this, I do indluge in them from time to time, but usually with a sugarless strong black coffee or red tea. I love Ras Malai with Saffron, Gulab is way too sweet, it is in fact the sweetest I think, carrot halwa is nice but aslo tends to be overly sweet (that's why I'm now interested in trying it at home with half the sugar dose) there is also the Katli that is really good and the kheer. Kulfi is really nice especially if you can get it (or make it) with less sugar.

  • Our way of doing it is quite different as turkish. We tend to cook the carrots in olive oil, we go ham on garlic and paprika oil on top. Walnuts are optional and arent boiled, you can use walnuts directly or maybe roast it a little bit. Havent heard anyone boiling them at least. Havuç tarator is the term thats used for the dish.

  • Thank you so much for centering Palestine! Stuffed carrots are a signature dish in Palestinian cuisine. My late grandmother made the tastiest stuffed carrots with the tamarind gravy. They are traditionally made with a different type of carrot that is very dark almost black in color, and is reddish purple when cooked. We call them red carrots in Arabic.

  • Am i the first person to know the reference for five points? It’s babe!

  • another great carrot dish is morkovcha created by the Koryo-saram

  • Pro tip with the nutribullet, it really shouldn’t overflow. It probably just needed the lid tightened more. I fill mine to the top every time without issues, although I do think it’s surprisingly less risky with a thicker blend than a thinner one. ☺️ The cake looks delicious!!
