School Lunch Ideas (Easy Formula for Effortless School Lunches)
My (Easy) School Lunch Formula
42 SCHOOL LUNCH IDEAS CHEAT SHEET PRINTABLE:
My secret formula divides the lunchbox into 4 main categories:
Main: the hearty “main dish” of the lunch. A sandwich, pizza, leftovers, soup, a wrap, homemade lunchable, quesadilla, rolled up turkey and cheese, pasta salad, etc.
Fruit: seasonal fruits, like sliced apples, berries, fruit salad, dried fruit, 100% fruit bars, etc.
Veggie: a mini salad, veggie sticks, or veg that’s been added to a sandwich or wrap or soup.
Crunch: Something extra that feels like a “treat or snack,” like a muffin, trail mix, popcorn, crackers, plantain chips, pretzels, cheese cubes or slices, etc.
Why use this formula?
It takes all the guesswork out of having to build a lunch each day.
Instead of feeling frustrated by a lack of ideas, you’ll have a framework or starting point that simply needs to be “filled in.”
The cheat sheet gives you some starting ideas for how to fill in each category and easily build a lunch that will nourish your kids.
