it’s a very simple dish, using basic ingredients in the Indian kitchen, goes very well with rotis and rice and a nice way to sneak in the vegetable

* 1- Radish/Mulo
* 1- Green chilli
* ½ tsp- Ginger paste
* 1- Whole dry red chill
* ½ tsp- Cumin seeds
* ¼ tsp- Turmeric powder
* Salt to taste
* ½ tsp- Sugar (optional)
* Mustard oil/Vegetable oil
* Coriander leaves to garnish
Instructions
1. Peel the radish and cut into cubes. Wash well and keep aside.
2. Wash yellow split peas 2-3 times. Add dal and radish in a cooker with a few drops of oil, ½ tsp of salt . Pressure cook with enough water (water level should be 1″ up from the dal). Check after 3 whistles. Dal needs to be cooked with the grains visible and mushy at the same time.
3. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Temper with dry red chili, and cumin seeds let it crackle , then add ginger paste sautee for few seconds Once it splutters add boiled lentil with radish, sugar, salt and mix well, add water if required, the consistency of this dal should be on the thicker side.
4. Give this a good boil on medium heat then finish off with lemon juice and cilantro !
5. Serve hot with steamed rice.
