vadi ki sabzi – moong dal vadi nu shak



Vadi Nu Shak

Ingredients:-
1 cup soaked Moong Dal
Small Ginger Knob
Green Chillies (as per taste)
Salt as per taste
1 tbs Oil
1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
Pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing)
2-3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves
1 finely chopped medium sized Onion
Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi Powder)
1 tsp Coriander Seeds Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
4 medium sized Tomato Puree
1/2 cup fresh Green Peas
1 cup Water
Chopped Coriander

Method:-
Take 1 cup soaked Moong Dal in a mixer jar
Add 1 small Ginger Knob
Add Green Chillies (as per taste)
Churn to a smooth batter and transfer in a mixing bowl
Add Salt as per taste
(You can also add Haldi and Lasun at this step)
Beat this batter for 5-7 min (to get good aeration)
In a greased plate, start putting small portion of batter one by one
Place this plate in a pre heated steamer
Steam for 10 min and tranfer the vadi on a plate
Further heat 1 tbs Oil in a pan to make sabji
Add 1 tsp Jeera
Add a pinch of Asafoetida Powder
Add 2-3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves
Add 1 finely chopped medium sized Onion
Add Salt as per taste
When the onion turns light golden-brown add masalas
Add Mirchi Powder, Haldi Powder and Dhaniya Powder
Add 4 medium sized Tomato Puree
Cover the lid and cook it on medium heat
Add 1/2 cup fresh Green Peas
Add 1 cup Water
Once it starts boiling add vadis prepared
Let it cook for a while and then mix it
Add freshly chopped Coriander and turn off the heat
Take sabji on a serving plate
Enjoy Scrumptious Vadi & Matar ki Sabji with Roti
