Amazing that people who try their best not to abuse animals still have to explain the obvious 😂 sometimes I would wonder if people are this dense or if they are pretending to be this dumb
the reason people hate jackfruit is because they eat the ripe one, the ripe jackfruit is a lot like Durian and it's a fruit and it's very sweet and its eaten raw. Whereas the young unripe jackfruit is actually a vegetable and u cook it and eat it. At my hometown it's also called "tree mutton" because it's closely similar to the taste of mutton curry if cooked similarly.

Jackfruit is actually pretty amazing, now don’t get me wrong I’ll admit every day that I prefer meat, but I was genuinely impressed with how well jack fruit smokes! It tastes really good! You have to add a good amount of fat to get the savoryness but it definitely works. I’ll make it sometimes just to mix things up even. If you enjoy pickled vegetables on your bbq sandwiches, I actually think they work better with jackfruit than meat.
If I'm vegan, and craving pulled pork, then calling it "jackfruit sandwich" would be pretty useless, wouldn't it. The point is to find something that scratches the itch.

I went to a vegetarian/pescatarian restaurant and it was awesome, I absolutely hate beyond meat and crap like that, I had a chickpea burger and it was delicious, i think more people would be onboard with vegan food if it wasn't trying to replicate meat so much to the point that its just uncanny
Hey, I'm not religious, but plant matter has been referred to as "meat" for a long enough time that it appeared in the bible.. Genesis 29-30
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
People who eat meat and comment like that are just ridiculous, why do they care what vegans:vegetarians call their food? Like why are they bothered? 🙄🙄🙄🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
It's because the vegan versions are named after the form factor, not the ingredient. There is a particular taste/texture/presentation/etc to each of these types of foods.
I still disagree on this point. There are loads of great vegan dishes, and i think they deserve better than being the vegan imitation of some meat dish. The sandwhich looks great.

maybe im just lucky, but all the vegans i know very nice ppl, and i actually love the vegan food theygive me, im not vegan but hear them out, especially when the price of meat is so high, we can learn a thing or two abt replacements, at least in my case where im not doing so well finantially (dw its fine tho)
